Home remedies to cure ringworm

Ringworm is a fungal infection of the skin that is quite common and contagious. It is caused by fungi that live on the top layer of the skin, feed on keratin in the skin, and thrive in warm, moist areas. The infection causes a circle, with a dark border in the shape of a ring. 

Garlic 

Garlic has excellent antifungal properties that help heal ringworm. Crush two cloves of garlic. Rub them on the ringworm eruption several times a day. To be done for four to five days or until the condition improves. 

The Neem 

Neem, or Indian lilac leaves, have antiseptic and antimicrobial properties that help treat ringworm, scabies, and various skin infections. Apply neem oil to the affected area once a day for a few days until the infection clears. You can also apply half a teaspoon of neem oil mixed with a cup of aloe vera gel. Mix crushed neem leaves, turmeric powder and sesame oil. Apply this paste on the affected area. 

Apple cider vinegar 

Apple cider vinegar is excellent for curing skin infections such as ringworm because of its antimicrobial and astringent properties. Dip a cotton swab in cider vinegar and apply on the affected area. Remedy to do, two or three times a day for a few days or until you see an improvement. 

Tea tree oil 

Tea tree oil is another natural remedy widely used for ringworm because of its antifungal and antiseptic qualities. Put a few drops of tea tree oil on a cotton ball and dab on the affected area. Operation to do, two or three times a day for a week or two. You can also dilute the tea tree oil in an equal amount of water or carrier oil and then apply it. Lavender oil can also be used locally to eliminate ringworm and soothe the skin. 

The raw papaya 

Raw papaya also kills fungi that cause ringworm because of its antifungal properties. Rub a slice of raw papaya on the affected area. Leave on for at least 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Do this at least twice a day for a few days. You can also apply fresh juice of papaya leaves or a paste made of dried papaya seeds. 

Turmeric 

Turmeric is a well known ingredient used in several ayurvedic remedies for its antiseptic, antibiotic and antifungal properties. In addition, it soothes the skin and facilitates the healing process. Extract the juice from the grated turmeric root. Apply the juice on the ringworm eruption three times a day until the area is free of infection. You can also heat a half cup of milk with a quarter of a teaspoon of turmeric and drink it 

Lemongrass 

Lemongrass helps treat ringworm because of its powerful antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties. It also relieves itching. When you absorb it, it also helps eliminate toxins from your body. Drink tea with lemongrass or a combination of lemongrass and chamomile tea three times a day. You can also apply tea bags with lemongrass used, lemongrass essential oil, or a paste of lemongrass leaves and crème fraiche topically on the affected area. 

White vinegar and salt 

The vinegar and salt combination helps fight against fungal infections. Therefore, they are useful for getting rid of ringworm and drying it out. Make a paste of salt and white vinegar. Apply it on the affected area and leave it for about five minutes. Treatment to be applied two or three times a day for one week or until the infection disappears.
